very good bread book very easy to read I have made every kind of bread in this book all turned out great and taste great.
Bought a bread machine and this looked like a good source of recipes to try. I've tried several and they were all quite good. My favorite is the Cinnamon Raisin bread ...I add just a little more cinnamon than the recipe ... fantastic toasted! Good reference if you intend to experiment with different recipes.
I LOVE this Betty Crocker Best Bread Machine recipe book!! So many different varieties, very easy to understand and make. Every time I make a new one I write my own notes at the bottom so I remember what I did to create a successful loaf. Every recipe I have made in this book so far has came out very well! Best investment for a recipe book that goes with my bread machine. Totally recommend – it has pitches in the troubleshooting guide if something goes wrong – but I haven't had to use it yet. Excellent excellent! Would definitely recommend everyone to buy this that has a bread machine.
Fantastic book!!! I have made 3 kinds so far I am in love everything tastes and smells great!! I am slowly going through the recipies in this book I want to make everything cover to cover!!Update: OMG this is the best book I ever had!! Everything I make in here is outrageous!! I made the Mediterranean herbed bread the parmesan sun dried tomato bread, I made the potato chive bread, I made the glazed cinnamon rolls... Everything has been over the top delicious. The only advice that I would have for everyone is the first time you make a particular recipe follow it exactly the way that it's written and then I wood peep into the bread maker and I would make sure that the bread has enough water to it the only bread that I had this problem with was the Chive potato but I think it depends mostly on your environment and if it's very dry that day you're going to need more water that's just a fact of life of baking. When you make a lot of bread you just know that on some days you're going to add more or less water that's just the way it goes. I would say once you do it once and you see how much water you need then I would probably just make a notation in the book somewhere underneath that recipe and from now on you do it that way if you're going to be doing it overnight this way you know that the bread will be hydrated enough so that it makes properly and Rises properly. I read some bad reviews about this book and I really do not understand why other than that maybe people are not following the directions properly I don't know. As a baker I know that there are a lot of variables with baking so you know the way that you scoop the the flour out, I personally like to weight my ingredients and unfortunately this book does not use weight measurements for their ingredients that's the only negative thing I would have to say about this book other than that it's just a dream I love it!! Go and get you'll love it!
My daughter was using this book, and when I visited her I knew I just had to have it as well, and we even have the same bread machine. I love the recipes. We eat home-made bread exclusively, and I make a lot of it by hand, but the bread machine is a plus as well. And actually you can use these recipes in just the 'dough' mode and then finish them up by hand anyway you want. I now have a sourdough starter going from which I've made several loaves. The 4-pepper bread is great, as is the Mediterranean herb bread. I really like the wheat breads. There are just the two of us now, so it can take awhile to eat all the bread, but I can't wait to try the bread bowls and serve them up with home-made soup. I have a couple other bread machine books, as well as the one that came with my Panasonic bread machine. I have a lot of fun with all of them, and this one has added some yummy recipes to the mix.

In my 65 years, Betty Crocker has never failed me. It stated that each recipe had been tested on many different bread makers which to me said the recipe had already been tweeked. I ordered it without hesitation.Let me start by saying that this cookbook is perfect for a newbie to bread making or someone like myself who gets frustrated by having too many failures. I had found bread making rather theraputic even with my less than perfect loaves but I doubted I would continue my new hobby for long if I failed to make a decent loaf of bread.This cookbook IS foolproof! The catagories it covers are: Good and Savory, Wholesome Grains, Fruit and Nut, Smaller (1 lb) Loaves, Rustic and Flatbread, Rolls and Bread Sticks, Sweet Breads and Coffee Cakes as well as many helpful hints in the front and back of the book.You have separate lists of ingredients for different size loaves (mainly 1 1/2 and 2 lb loaves). If a particular recipe does not work well in a particular shape pan or loaf size, it tells you so thus saving you much trial and error. And from my very first loaf using a recipe for basic white bread, my loaves come out perfect. After my largely decent tasting but strange looking first loaves, it is a joy to end up with a professional looking loaf of homemade bread that tastes good!If you are new to bread making or are buying a bread machine for someone, add a copy of this book to your purchase. This Betty Crocker cookbook has lots of recipes to keep you busy for quite some time. After your bread making success with this book, you may well be inspired to try some of the recipes in the three inch thick cookbook!By the way, I now have TWO bread machines, the second a West Bend that just arrived today (will try it out tomorrow). With Christmas about 2 months away, I will be making bread as gifts (as well as cookies and candies). Once I try the West Bend, I will leave reviews for it and the Oster. It is so hard to decide which machine to buy. So I solved the problem with buying them both!
