She currently resides in Passaic, New Jersey with her husband and children. Michelle Pruzansky, MS, OTR/L, is a pediatric occupational therapist specializing in the treatment of children with autistic spectrum disorders. Michelle received her bachelor's degree from Yeshiva University Stern College for Women and her master's degree in occupational therapy from Columbia University. Michelle currently lives in Bergenfield, NJ with her husband and children. I am an OT student and did not find this book particularly helpful. Most of what I read could be found for free on Pinterest. Here are some examples:Pincer activity: Play-Doh rolling: child rolls pellet size balls of Play-Doh between the thumb and pointer finger, then squeezes them one by one using a pinch grasp.Finger Exercises and Positions: Child touches each finger to the thumb. Child imitates different hand and finger positions.Whole Body Stabilization: Child sits on a peanut ball and reaches for far items placed on both sides. Child then throws the items into a basket.There's nothing special about these ideas. Very basic.
Very helpful book for OTs and OTAs! I have been a therapist for many years but appreciate the new treatment ideas!
